combatphotog21 ::: Favorites Let me pull a Dr. King move here and ask: "What can we agree on?" I feel Dr. King truly preached Jesus` message, one of non-violence, love, and tolerance. You agree Karma? 07-08-30 04:12:40 __________________________________________________
combatphotog21 ::: Favorites YOU WERE NOT THERE. Look a your sn and the way you write, your obviously younger. Martin Luther King did march in `67 against the war because he was asked by the organizers of the event to appear because they were trying to merge civil rights with anti war movements. My point is Dr. King WAS NOT involved EXTENSIVELY in anti war movement. Near the end of his life he started showing greater interest in the anti war movement but none the less Dr. King PRIMARILY fought for civil rights. 07-08-30 04:10:33 __________________________________________________
karma52 ::: Favorites You obviously know nothing about the anti-war marches in the sixties.Martin Luther King marched in 67 with thousands of anti-war protesters in DC Joan Baez and other famous folks were there with him.I don't need to read it I was there.What books have you been reading?? Maybe your on drugs ?? Sorry you can only fantasize about the 60's but i lived them.Books don't come close to the reality.What combat have you photographed ? Are you only 21? Grow up !! 07-08-29 05:49:41 __________________________________________________
combatphotog21 ::: Favorites *Rap 07-08-29 05:36:51 __________________________________________________
combatphotog21 ::: Favorites AND one more thing Rp Brown eventually joined the Black Panthers, a MILITANT group, something totally different from Dr. King`s message of NONVIOLENT change. 07-08-29 05:35:54 __________________________________________________
combatphotog21 ::: Favorites and many of these young white kids were rebelling against the older ww2 generation and this involved taking drugs, listening to rock n roll, etc... not all were doing but if you paid any attention in history class you would know alot of people in antiwar movement were doing so 07-08-29 05:33:48 __________________________________________________
combatphotog21 ::: Favorites The civil rights movement and anti-war movement were two seperate movements, civil rights consisted largely of southern blacks and white volunteers from the north who operated based on religous beliefs, and the anti war largely consisted of white, middle class university students who operated based out of political beliefs. 07-08-29 05:30:33 __________________________________________________
combatphotog21 ::: Favorites Listen to the way you talk you fake. You`re` just a bored kid who has read up on the 60s a little bit and you`re trying to reinterpeeret the 60s to fit some little fantasy in your head. Dr. King NEVER protested the war he only spoke out against it, his main thing was civil rights. And H. Rap Brown was a cokehead kid!! Read your history better 07-08-29 05:11:24 __________________________________________________
karma52 ::: Favorites Alot of groups called for protests in every city.There were 100's of anti-war groups organizing people to go to Chicago,Pentagon,NYC,etc.I went to protests in NYC,Boston and DC all the time. No one I knew followed the yippies or paid any attention to them.There were plenty of anti-war leaders like Stokely Carmichael,Dr.King,Rap Brown,Eugene Macarthy,the Berrigan brothers,etc.These are some of the leaders I respected. 07-08-27 06:34:07 __________________________________________________
karma52 ::: Favorites Where are the yippies today.Some are dead from suicide RIP Abbey and Jerry.I protested the war from 67-73.Drugs are for losers.Most of the yippies I knew are burn outs or dead.Acid and speed ruined alot of lives.Abbey became a coke dealer.The government made sure there was plenty of drugs on the streets for all the mixed up kids to burn out on.Part of the CIA plan called MK Ultra.Alot of kids thought it was cool to turn on.They didn't realize the CIA was behind it. 07-08-27 05:58:53 __________________________________________________ |
