During the depression, the feds reduced the amount of dollars available on the market, sending the country into a depression with a run on the banks. Knowingly or unknowingly, by advocating a gold standard, you're advocating the same catastrophic measure.

Gold was $32/oz. for years.Gold is $800+/oz.now.The Federal Reserve Note is only worth 4cents compared to 100cents in 1913. Here's a rough formula! 800x.04=$32. Gold is still worth about the same it was in 1913!!Fiat dollars value have only declined! We need the gold standard & Dr. Ron Paul!!!!!!

what would happen if this guy got elected and followed through on all of those points?
a few corporations with leverage over vital assets and telecommunications would start to take over the country, money would become more of a factor in life than it is now, there would be a HUGE class war, and the gravity that is government.. pulling all varieties of americans together in ideals, lifestyles, and investment in their fellow americans... would weaken significantly.
